New Instagram service feature – Insta Checkout?

Instagram has been slowly coming up with its online shopping tools, and now this photo focused platform will be having its own shopping cart.
On March 19, Instagram launched a checkout tool, which allows users to do both – shop and then go through checkout without ever leaving the Instagram platform.
Instagram checkout works with existing tools like – shopping tags and stickers inside both feed posts and Stories. It allows users to choose different options like sizes and color and also includes a “check out on Instagram” button. Further, it says checkout information will be “securely saved” for future orders.

Once checkout is completed on Instagram, the order will be tracked and send delivery updates right inside of Instagram’s notifications. This service will also have an option for returns /cancellations, in-progress order, or request support.

Few of partnerships helped launch the new checkout tool, including a partnership with Paypal, one of the payment options. eCommerce platform BigCommerce is also an early partner for the tool, enabling businesses to make Instagram transactions.

Though the tool is still in beta, it is in action with few of fashion, beauty, and athletics retailers. Business owners can apply for the beta program online.
